Commitment will be rewarded in Zlin
Guy has revealed that commitment will be rewarded on Barum Czech Rally Zlin, round seven of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
The Peugeot UK star has just completed the recce for the asphalt rally, famed for its tricky stages through narrow woodland areas.
He told guywilks.com: “The key is to find the areas not to lift, to be absolutely committed, because that’s where we’ll gain the time.
“So we have been checking and double checking our pacenotes.
“We had a good test in the car before the recce, so we are really well prepared and can’t wait to get started.”
Guy and co-driver Phil Pugh need a strong finish on Rally Zlin to keep their IRC title hopes alive.
The rally starts with a three-lap superspecial through the city streets of Zlin at 9.15pm on Friday night.
Saturday’s action features four repeated stages, including two runs of Trojak, which at 28.29km is the longest of the rally.
Sunday’s route covers three repeated stages, including Majak, which is back for the first time in 20 years.
The 10.48km Kudlovice and 24.37km Halenkovice stages will run in reverse to 2010 before the crews head back to Zlin for the finish ramp ceremony at 3.15pm local time.
